New Voices Campaign Institute
The New Voices Campaign Institute is a comprehensive training that provides the skills needed to run a winning electoral campaign. The training is led by experienced Rhode Island leaders who know how to win. Participants will practice skills on the ground through volunteer recruitment, voter ID activities, field planning, and more. Apply here.

Rhode Island needs smart progressive leaders that will bring a new voice to our state's political process and to help win change on important issues, such as: guaranteed health care; livable wage jobs; quality education; affordable housing; preserving a healthy environment; and fighting for equal rights for all.
After participating in 3 five-hour comprehensive skills trainings, you'll have the skills needed to:
- Run for Electoral Office
- Manage a Campaign
- Develop a Winning Strategy
- Build a Campaign Team
- Frame Campaign Messages
- Fundraise to Win
- Manage Media
- Develop a Get-Out-the-Vote Plan
New Voices Training Dates
- Saturday, September 19th
- Saturday, October 3rd
- Saturday, October 17th
All trainings are scheduled for 9:00 am to 2:00 pm (location to be announced).
Who Should Apply
The Institute is open to 30 participants that have a real commitment to public service for progressive social change. If you are interested in building your skills to volunteer for or manage an electoral campaign, or even to some day run for public office, then you should complete the application for the New Voices Campaign Institute.
Priority will be given to members of Ocean State Action member organizations, but all are encouraged to apply!
You can easily apply online here or by downloading a copy of the brochure to fill out the application and send it into Ocean State Action at 99 Bald Hill Road, Cranston, RI 02920. You can also fax a copy to 401-463-9749. Please not that it's easiest for everybody for you to apply online. Applications are due by Monday, August 31st.
The cost for all 3 trainings is $50, but scholarships are available.
